If it makes me call on the Lord, I am okay with it.

If you feel like lately you've been drug through the mud, felt disregarded or despised by men... If you have found yourself in sheer disbelief of your situation, or have been at the bottom lately and not even known which way is up, and insert any other despair here... This is for you. And it's in love. Here it is: when we repent, He redeems us.
Psalm 107 offers many examples of God's plan for redemption. God will allow His children to need Him, and when His children cry out, He is faithful to not let His word return void. He wills that none should perish. See this for yourself in this portion of Psalm 107:
"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.
They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses. And He led them forth by the right way, That they might go to a city for a dwelling place. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness."
He wills that none should perish, but that all should dwell with Him forever, and that starts now.
We ought to rejoice if we have not been given over to our sin and are instead being beckoned to our loving Father. I am grateful for His mercy. I am grateful that He wants me.
We have a forgiving God, whose kindness leads us to repentance.
His kindness goes beyond giving spiritual gifts and financial blessings, which so many seek. Sometimes, the wilderness is His kindness. Sometimes, the miry clay is His kindness. Sometimes, the all-engulfing waters are His kindness. His kindness allows you to call on Him and inquire of Him. His kindness leads us to repentance.
Pray that you will be able to see His kindness for what it is.
As Psalm 107:43 says, "Whoever is wise will observe these things, and they will understand the lovingkindness of the Lord."
In this world, we will have struggles. We will encounter turmoil and times of distress—there is a season for everything. Maybe instead of seeing everything as an attack from Satan, maybe we could see these times of oppression, slander, grief, and sorrow as an invitation to draw nearer to God, who offers the shadow of His wing to us, and to examine our hearts for any areas in need of redemption. And repent.
