More than Enough

Recently I saw a meme on social media that read “It’s not the happy people who are thankful, but the thankful people who are happy.” Wow, so much truth in that statement!

Some days it can prove challenging to find anything to be thankful for; that is, UNTIL we narrow our focus to the truth of what’s REALLY important. I’m reminded of a scripture found in Philippians. Philippians 4:8 encourages us – “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” TLB (Emphasis mine)

When you’re struggling to find a reason to be thankful, think on this…..your salvation, through Jesus Christ, is more than enough. Bottom line, that is all that matters. God did not have to save mankind – but He did. The truth is, God’s grace is enough. Honestly, the very presence of Jesus Christ is more than enough. God is a just God, whose love is pure and lovely, and we can share the good report that by virtue of what transpired on the cross, we give praise for the hope that is in Christ our Lord. THINK ABOUT THAT!

I could go on about gratitude and appreciation; however, God’s Word is more than enough.

As we collectively celebrate this season of Thanksgiving, may it not be for just a day but rather 24/7/365!
