What happens in the physical...

Do you ever think about the scripture that says we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities? Many times, that scripture is applied to relationships, not wrongly so. I’d like to take a look at it from the lens of Israel’s current situation.
Who assigned Israel’s attackers to come against her?
Who is letting the attacks play out?
Why is it happening?
The devil, our adversary, is like a prowling lion, seeking whom he may devour. Rather audacious of him (and foolish, I might add) to seek the destruction of God’s chosen nation. No man can prevail against Israel (see Zechariah 12:9 for one example). What’s notable is that while the devil is seeking to steal the land, kill its inhabitants, and destroy its future and any ounce of progress towards the peace they have strived for, he is actually carrying out the design of God.
It is God, by the way, who is overseeing these current events. I imagine a wise man poring over a live-action map, studying what He already knows, delaying and denying as He sees fit, allowing and enabling as He sees fit.
This same man that I imagine for this scene has sacrificed Himself, essentially, and His son for this tribe—well, for all nations, but He has called THIS tribe His bride, and many of them still do not accept or know Him for who He truly is. They know Him for His commands, and not for His son, the salvation they watch for.
On the other side of the world where I’m writing from, we have a role in this too. This is a chance for us to feel the Father’s heart, to feel the ache of the bridegroom’s heart whose bride is not ready. We have the OPPORTUNITY to pray for Israel, that she as a nation would come to call on the name of Jesus, the ONLY name that can save.
What happens in the physical is a reflection of what is happening in the supernatural. The devil knows when to strike. He knows when to tarry. He is a conniving spirit who wants these souls almost as much as God wants them. If he can get them gone before they bow their hearts to Jesus, he has succeeded in his nasty evil plans.
We ought to seize this call to war. There is power in the tongue, even life and death can flow from it, and the Bible is like a two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow. Let’s use what we have been given to fight back for the chosen nation now and tomorrow and every day going forward. After all, we are commanded to do this regularly. Let us be grateful for the reminder and follow our convictions to act on it.
